Farmweld
cattle yards, hay feeders, crushes, cattle ramps and associated cattle
products are
manufactured to withstand the daily wear
and tear of farm life.Whether you are a farmer or small
property owner, we will take the time to talk to you and find out
exactly what you need when designing or modifying a cattle yard so that
we can custom design our
products to fit your needs and budget.
As with our other products all cattle yards, cattle ramps, head bails,
races, etc. are custom made for each
job. We make both portable cattle yards and fixed cattle yards and
Farmweld cattle gates
and steel cattle panels are made from quality hot dipped galvanised
pipe. If
you are
after a complete cattle yard package or just want your existing cattle
yards modified, talk to us
and we'll design something for you.

The Manufacturing Process
…
Notched
Joins. We accurately measure and then notch all the joints
in the steel panel. Joins are notched rather than squashed to provide a
cleaner looking and stronger join which will distribute loads more
widely and evenly within the steel cattle panel and also provide a
smoother
joint with less chance of cattle injuring themselves on protrusions and
damaging
your animals meat or hide. The join shown here is notched and unwelded
demonstrating how neatly the ends fit around the adjoining
pipe.
- Properly cleaned panels.
Once the cattle panels have been MIG welded all of the joints are wire
brushed
to remove sharp weld residue and spatter from the rails. Welds are then
painted with ‘cold galv’ to prevent corrosion.
- Squared corners. The
top corners of all steel cattle panels are made square and not bent, an
added safety
feature which minimises the risk of injury to animals who on occasion
attempt to jump over the cattle yards. This design feature helps to
prevent
animals wedging
their legs between the steel cattle panels resulting in injury or death
to your precious
stock.
- Vertical Supports.
As seen below, panels in our cattle yards that are 2m or longer have a
50x5mm galvanised steel
strap welded down the centreline of the cattle panel to help support
the rails.
- Quality Fittings. The
fittings and caps used on our cattle yards are all quality hot dipped
galvanised items from
reputable suppliers.
Other options: Because our
cattle yards are custom made we can modify them in any way to suit your
needs.
We can alter the height, use additional rails, mesh or
blind panels. We also manufacture and tailor
the following cattle products to suit their location.
|
Fixed Cattle Yard Panels:The panels
stand
1600mm high and have either five evenly spaced 32mm n/b rails (as
above) or six
32mm n/b rails welded at varying intervals, the bottom four being
closer together to help contain smaller calves and the top two rails
of the cattle panel
slightly further apart.Cattle
panels
are made to whatever length you want up to a maximum of
3m/10".
The wall
thickness and diameter of the rails can be varied, as well as the
number of rails.

Portable Cattle Yards:
are
made similar to the fixed cattle yard panels with the added feature of
a
curved foot. The design of this foot allows the portable cattle panel
to rest more solidly on
loose and uneven ground and longer cattle panels which are heavy can
easily be moved
by simply grabbing the end of the cattle panel and dragging
