What do you do when you need a formal entrance to a property with Australian Colonial architecture but it needs to work with French Provincial interior decorating … go wrought iron of course. The wrought iron entrance gate to this NSW property was made keeping in mind both styles and the owner couldn’t be happier.

The Brief: The house on this property was built in 1898 but it has been renovated with a French Provincial interior. The house is quintessentially an old Australian Homestead and although the gates are some distance from it, we recommended that the gates tie together elements of the interior and exterior of the home.

The Solution:  The customer liked the idea of wrought iron gates. Hand forged or blacksmithed gates, more in keeping with the era of the home were going to be out of the customers’ budget. The ‘Florence’ gate appealed but it was a little too ‘tizzy’ for the home, so the C scrolls were removed from the design. Alternate bars were twisted to make it little more interesting, and the customer loved the idea of having it rust up, so it looked old and weathered. To make the entrance look a little more formal, she had a local builder construct simple brick pillars.

What the customer had to say:

“Well, the gates have JUST literally arrived and I have one thing to say about them……I LOVE THEM!!!!!! They are even more beautiful than I had envisaged. Thank you so much for creating such divine gates for our Glen Avon homestead, which we love so much. I know we will be thrilled with the result one they go up, and I think they will do the place – and it’s history – proud.”

Hi there, what price are these gates? The design is good, I would want them as per photo and approx the same size. Thanks,

    Joel.

Hi Joel, I’ve sent you an email. To give you an accurate quote I need more details, e.g. finish – raw or powder coated, what you’re fixing the gates to (so I know what type of hinges to quote on),and most importantly your location so I can factor in shipping. I prefer to give an all inclusive price so you know exactly what the cost is and there are no ‘surprises’. Tricia.

Hi there, just wondering if you could give me a quote on these gates. The opening is three metres wide and would be hung on post and rail fencing Height would need to be about 5 foot high finished in black. Delivery would be to Black Hill NSW (near newcastle). Thanks Michelle
